Plain Definition

What is yoni butter?

Yoni butter is a whipped, solid-at-room-temperature moisturiser made for external intimate skin — the vulva, the mons, the bikini line, the inner thigh. It is built on plant fats that stay firm in the jar and melt at body temperature. That texture is the only real difference from a yoni oil: same job, same place on the body, different feel.

Yoni is a Sanskrit word for the vulva and the womb. In modern personal care it is simply used as a name for products made for that part of the body — it carries no meaning on an ingredients list.

What it is not: not a cleanser, not a treatment, and not something to use inside the vagina. The vaginal canal maintains its own balance and does not need to be moisturised, scented or “cleaned” with a product. Yoni butter stays on the outside.

Why Butter

Made for the long massage

A dry oil like grapeseed absorbs quickly — a virtue in a daily moisturizer, a limitation in a massage. Yoni Butter solves it with texture: coconut oil and cocoa butter whipped until airy, so it scoops like a soft cream, then melts on contact into a slow, cushioned glide that stays put far longer than oil alone.

The share of grapeseed oil keeps the finish from feeling waxy, and vitamin E rounds off the formula. There is no added fragrance — what you smell is cocoa butter itself, a faint, natural chocolate-adjacent warmth that fades as the butter sinks in.

  • Whipped texture: holds its shape in the jar, melts at skin temperature
  • Longer-lasting glide than a dry oil — built for extended massage
  • No added fragrance — only the natural warmth of cocoa butter

Full Ingredients

Everything in the jar

INCI: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Tocopherol.

Four ingredients, whipped in small batches. No parabens, no sulfates, no mineral oil, no essential oils, no synthetic fragrance, no dyes. Vegan; not tested on animals.

Good to know: plant oils and butters weaken latex and polyisoprene condoms. Keep oil-based products away from latex barriers. For external use only.

Straight Answers

What a butter can and cannot do

Intimate-care products are sold with a lot of promises. Ours are deliberately small, so here is the usual list of claims with honest answers against them.

Common claimOur answer
“Balances your pH”No. Nothing applied to the outside changes vaginal pH, and a plant butter does not meaningfully shift skin pH either.
“Eliminates odour”No. There is no deodorising ingredient here. A persistent change in odour is a reason to see a clinician, not to buy a cosmetic.
“Tightens or rejuvenates”No. That is not something a moisturiser does.
“Treats dryness, infections or menopausal change”No. This is a cosmetic product, not a treatment. Those questions belong with a healthcare professional.
What it actually doesSoftens and conditions external skin, reduces friction during a massage, and leaves a faint natural cocoa warmth. That is the whole list.
If something hurts: itching, burning, unusual discharge or a change in odour are worth a conversation with a doctor or pharmacist. No oil or butter is the right answer to a symptom.
FAQ

Common questions

Oil or butter — which should I choose?

Oil is lighter and absorbs faster — the better choice for a quick daily moisture ritual. Butter is richer, stays on the skin longer and is made for extended massage. Many people keep both: oil for mornings, butter for slow evenings. Read the full comparison →

Will it melt in a warm climate?

Above roughly 28 °C the whipped texture will soften or melt to a pourable oil. It is completely fine to use in either state — the ingredients are unchanged. Stir it, or re-chill the jar briefly and it will firm back up (the whipped airiness may not fully return).

Can it stain fabric?

Like any rich plant butter, it can leave marks on delicate fabric if you dress before it absorbs. Give it a few minutes to sink in, or use a towel during massage. Most marks wash out with warm water and detergent.

Is it safe to use with condoms?

No. Like all plant-oil products, it can weaken latex and polyisoprene condoms. Do not combine oil-based products with latex barriers.

What does “yoni” mean?

Yoni is a Sanskrit word for the vulva and the womb. In modern personal-care marketing it is used simply as a name for products made for the external intimate area. It describes who a product is for, not what is in it.

Where do you apply yoni butter?

On the outside only — the vulva, the mons, the bikini line and the inner thigh. A pea-sized amount on clean, dry skin is enough. Never inside the vagina.

Can yoni butter cause a yeast infection?

Any product applied to intimate skin can irritate someone, and added fragrance and essential oils are the usual culprits — which is why this butter has four ingredients and neither of those. Even so: patch-test on the inner arm for 48 hours, keep it external, and stop if the skin reacts. If you already have symptoms of an infection, see a clinician rather than treating it yourself.

Is yoni butter the same as a vulva balm?

Close. Both are thick external moisturisers for the same area; “vulva balm” is simply the more clinical name for it. Balms are often built on beeswax, butters on plant fats. Ours is vegan — coconut oil and cocoa butter, no beeswax.

Can I use it after shaving or waxing?

Yes, on intact skin, once any immediate irritation has settled. Do not apply it to broken skin, fresh cuts or an active rash.
