The Base

Why we build on grapeseed

Grapeseed oil is one of the lightest carrier oils in cosmetics: high in linoleic acid, low on the comedogenic scale, and quick to absorb without a greasy film. That makes it a sensible choice for the most sensitive skin on your body.

  • High linoleic acid — the fatty acid profile favoured for skin-barrier support
  • Light, fast-absorbing texture — no occlusive heaviness
  • Neutral scent — a clean canvas for our botanical infusions
  • Vitamin E added — an antioxidant that also protects the oil itself

Ritual

Three quiet minutes

Yoni oil is a self-care ritual, not a treatment. Here is the whole of it.

  1. Cleanse

A warm shower or bath. Pat the skin dry with a soft towel.

  2. Warm

Two or three drops between your fingertips, warmed for a moment.

  3. Apply

Massage gently onto the external intimate area. Let it absorb.

Straight Answers

The questions we get asked

What is yoni oil?

A blend of plant carrier oils made for the external intimate skin — the vulva, the mons, the bikini line. Yoni is a Sanskrit word for the vulva and the womb; in modern personal care it is simply a name for products made for that area. Ours are built on cold-pressed grapeseed with jojoba and vitamin E. The full guide →

Where do you apply it?

Externally only: the vulva, the mons, the bikini line, the inner thigh. Two or three drops on clean, dry skin. Never inside the vagina — the vaginal canal maintains its own balance and does not need to be moisturised or “cleaned” with a product.

Is yoni oil safe?

As a cosmetic for external skin, for most people, yes — provided it is kept external, patch-tested first, and free of the ingredients that commonly irritate: synthetic fragrance, high-strength essential oils, dyes. It is not safe with latex: plant oils weaken latex and polyisoprene condoms. And it is not a treatment — symptoms belong with a clinician.

Does yoni oil balance pH or remove odour?

No. Nothing applied to the outside changes vaginal pH, and there is no deodorising ingredient in a plant oil. Those are marketing claims, not effects. A persistent change in odour is a reason to see a clinician.

What is the difference between yoni oil and yoni butter?

Texture and staying power. Oil is liquid and absorbs in a few minutes; butter is whipped solid, melts at body temperature and holds its glide through a long massage. Same area of the body, same external-only rule. Side by side →
